From rescuing wild colonies to harvesting small-batch honey with meaning — here’s a deeper look at how we care for bees, community, and places.
Victorian Goodwill Honey
All Australian Gourmet Honey
Each label with its specific purpose, showcasing real honey, real products and real places.
Mount Macedon Honey is our premium offering, harvested from the hives we manage in the pristine environment of Mount Macedon. This honey is a true reflection of the mountain’s diverse and ever-changing floral landscape. With each season, the colors and flavors of this honey evolve, offering you a unique taste that captures the essence of the picturesque gardens and natural beauty of the area.
For those moments when you crave something extraordinary, our All Australian Gourmet Honey are the perfect choice. We infuse honey with locally sourced Australian ingredients. Whether it’s the unique flavours of bush foods or the familiar warmth of cinnamon or ginger, delicate flavours of vanilla, lavender or myrtle or boldness of garlic, smoke, chilli or salt; by choosing our gourmet infusions, you’re not only indulging in a delicious product but also supporting Australian growers and producers. We never compromise on quality, ensuring that every infusion uses ingredients grown right here in Australia.
While we are passionate about promoting local honey and Australian produce, we also understand the realities of modern life. Victorian Goodwill Honey is our answer to those seeking high-quality, affordable honey. Sourced from like-minded beekeepers across Victoria, this honey provides an alternative to blended or imported honeys from the supermarket. Every purchase of Victorian Goodwill Honey helps support local communities—whether through school and community fundraisers or environmental initiatives such as land protection, revegetation and bee rescue. It’s honey with a purpose, priced for families.
We respond to calls from landholders, councils, and the public when wild honey bee colonies need to be safely removed — from wall cavities, tree hollows, compost bins, and more.
Unlike pest control, we relocate and rehome colonies with care, biosecurity screening, and purpose.
We never kill a healthy colony
All rescues are assessed and ethically removed
Willing to partner with other specialists for complex removals
Rescued colonies are then hosted in our community apiary network
Every rescued colony is a living story and helps rebuild local pollinator populations in a balanced way.
Swarm? Don’t Spray — Call Us.
Honey bee swarms are natural, but can be alarming if they appear in your backyard or on your fence. The roar and blur of a swarm in flight, or cluster of settled bees can be fascinating for some and terrifying for others.
Swarming is a natural part of the honeybee lifecycle, most common in Spring and Summer as nectar yields increase, and the space in hives to store the nectar decreases. The presence of a swarm generally indicates the presence of a local healthy bee population.
Sadly, when left to their own devices, many swarms occupy buildings, structures and places in and around where people live and work, establish themselves in native fauna nesting spaces, or sadly die. Each possible outcome bringing with it public safety, biodiversity and biosecurity risks that can be avoided through early reporting and recovery.
We do our best to monitor community social media during the peak swarm season (spring), however are always willing to receive phone calls and texts regarding swarm removal.
We offer free public advice and seasonal swarm collection throughout the Macedon Ranges and surrounds, and work with a network of fellow Bee Rescuers for swarms that are beyond our reach.
We safely remove and rehome swarms during spring, summer and autumn. After appropriate quarantine and biosecurity checks, we introduce them into managed hives with our hosting partners or with Beekeepers we are mentoring.
If you have a swarm, and don't have a Beekeeper who can collect it for you, please reach out.
If you are a budding Bee Rescuer yourself looking for some additional advice/support - please reach out to begin a discussion.
